Maths/Science Tutor

I teach pupils aged 7 plus, covering all levels, including:

Key Stage 2 (aged 7-11)

At this age most children enjoy learning about the world around them, and given an opportunity they can thrive and increase their enjoyment of learning.  With this approach they can understand their subjects well and perform better at school or SATS tests.  I can provide hands-on experience and personalised tutoring, as I treat each child as an individual and tailor my lessons to them accordingly.

Key Stage 3 (aged 11-14)

Now at high school, things become more focused.  I can help your child quickly understand what is required of them, show them how to apply themselves and provide what is required in their understanding to progress in their subject areas.

GCSE (Key Stage 4)

GCSEs can be tough.  But with focus and determination, your child can do well and get the results needed for the next stage in their education.  I have access to all exam board revision books & examination papers. I can provide a thoughtful, focused and friendly environment in which your child can get the results they need.

A Level (Key Stage 5)

I teach A Level Physics & Mathematics, and particularly enjoy this level of education.  If you need help here, I can definitely assist you in your understanding.  I have examination papers and materials needed to enable you to get the results you require whether you want go to university or not.

University Students and Adult Learners

Are you at university or an adult learner trying to get back into employment?   I can help you with your: Maths top-up requirements; study skills; revision techniques; essay writing and exam preparations.  I undestand what is required of you (having been to university 4 times!). I know how you should answer a question, and I can provide you with clarity of thought to help you achieve the most out of your desired field of study.

Dyslexia / Dyscalculia trained

Having trained and worked in the dyslexia sector for over 10 years, I understand the specific difficulties and challenges faced by many dyslexic / dyscalculic learners.  I provide a sympathetic, multi-sensory approach in my teaching techniques, and can even show the positive side to being different.

Home Schooling

Some of my students are home schooled, and this can present unique challenges and opportunities in their approach to education.  I home schooled my own son and he thrived. He now has a degree and is such an independent learner: reading over 100 books a year!  If you are thinking of home schooling, I can provide you with valuable information and advice on networks you can connect with; what is required by the law and offer tuition/practical assistance in the core subjects.
